Fee financing

School fee financing: parents pay in instalments, the school is paid in full

School fee financing lets a parent spread a term's fees over monthly instalments while the school receives the full amount up front. On Safeticha the parent applies from the fee record, EdPay by Edubanc assesses and funds the loan, and the school's fee record is marked paid when the money arrives.

Definition

How fee financing works

Fee financing is a short-term loan to a parent for the specific purpose of paying school fees. The lender pays the school directly, so the school never carries the credit risk, and the parent repays the lender by direct debit each month.

Safeticha's financing partner is EdPay by Edubanc, a Nigerian education finance provider. The school opts in once, supplies its bank account for disbursements, and shares its fee schedule. Everything else happens between the parent and EdPay inside the Safeticha app.

What you get

What the school and the parent each see

01

One-time school setup

Enable financing in Settings, add the school's disbursement account and accept the data-sharing consent. Safeticha syncs pupils and fee amounts with EdPay in the background.

02

Parent applies in the app

From a fee with a balance, the parent verifies their BVN, completes their profile, uploads a bank statement for the credit check, chooses a tenure and submits with the required documents.

03

Live quote before applying

The parent sees the interest, insurance and monthly instalment for the tenure they pick before anything is submitted.

04

Offer to accept or decline

EdPay sends an offer. The parent accepts it, or declines with a reason and may receive a revised offer, all inside Safeticha.

05

Mandate and disbursement

After acceptance the parent authorises a direct debit mandate with their bank. EdPay then pays the school and Safeticha records the fee as paid.

06

Status for everyone

The parent is notified at every step. The school sees financed payments on the fee record like any other payment. Safeticha's own team can act on a parent's behalf if asked.

Pricing

What it costs

Safeticha is priced per school, not per module. Payroll, fees, invoicing, receipts, report cards, attendance, CBT exams and safeguarding are all part of the same school plan, which is tiered by pupil count and starts at ₦37,500 a month.

New schools get a 10-day onboarding period and a further 30 days of use before the first charge, so the first bill lands on day 40. Billing is monthly from the school wallet with no lock-in contract.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who provides the loan?

EdPay by Edubanc, a Nigerian education finance provider. Safeticha provides the application flow and keeps the school's fee record in step. Safeticha is not the lender.

Does the school pay anything for financing?

No. The school receives the financed amount in full. The parent pays EdPay's interest and insurance, which are shown in the quote before applying.

What does a parent need to apply?

A BVN, a completed profile with gender, NIN, date of birth and address, a recent bank statement for the credit check, and a utility bill and ID card as supporting documents.

Can a parent decline an offer?

Yes, with a reason. EdPay may then send a revised offer, which the parent can accept or decline in the same way.

What happens if the parent misses an instalment?

Repayment is by direct debit mandate. EdPay retries a failed debit and contacts the parent. The school's position does not change because it was paid in full at disbursement.
